It used to be called confession.
Nobody had a problem with it.
But somebody - in the Church, after political correctness finally held sway over actual theological common sense - decided to call it ... reconciliation.
And what the hell does that mean?
It means nothing, Jack. Nothing at all.
If you're going to confess your sins, you're going to confess your sins.
Reconciliation?
A stupid word for a stupid world.

I suppose Reconciliation could mean something (though not something that's likely in this country, it would seem) but this substitution of it is a good example of a Weasel Word in use! See Don Watson's wonderful book on this subject for more (though I just checked and it wasn't in there). We live in an age of lip-service and double-speak.
