Now my bookshelves are groaning.
I just bought the entire Potter series in a boxed set.
It is some of the best writing in the English language. Spare, perfectly observed, dramatic and sometimes frightening; yet containing a sense of the everyday that has never failed to enthrall generations of children.
And their parents, like me.

Hee! Great post! Those Potters would certainly be nicer to lug on the train (although the newer Potter ain't half-bad...)!
ah lovely covers... the old style... i do love miss potter... and the animated series... still makes me smile...
Nice to see these in their original format - made for children's hands just as Beatrix Potter requested. They're eternal classics in every respect!
